My Role: Strategy

Research and writing of 50-page in-depth category and competitive analysis of the first aid aisle. Research culminated in a semiotic analysis of relevant design codes and visual opportunities that provided a grounding framework to guide the development of a new (confidential) brand offering.

  • Detailed the competitive landscape of first aid category in mass, drug and grocery channels

  • Design audit of 10 brands in first aid and adjacent categories

  • Semiotic analysis identifying 5 areas of opportunity, with narrative and visual examples

  • Identified 4 key opportunity areas for meaningful design that provided a framework for our creative exploration

  • Identified structural opportunities and informational norms
